Made my own gym, I’m not going back out there

All of these people who have been talking about putting on a “quarantine 15” have been making me laugh pretty hard.

First of all, I appreciate the funny pun about weight gain when you’re trapped indoors.

Secondly, though, it points out a major discrepancy in people’s thinking. For some reason, you can only work out if you leave the house and pay to go to a gym? I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the connection between physical fitness and driving to a distant location. In fact, nearly as soon as the pandemic began I decided to create my own home gym. It really was not a problem to obtain the workout gear that I normally used for a low-cost. The other start-up cost was finding appropriate indoor air handling devices to filter out my sweaty smell and keep the indoor air super cool. Of course, one of the benefits of visiting a gym is using their powerful air conditioning system during your workout. I’m not a fan of being in the heat and humidity of our outdoor climate while I’m building up heat inside my body. However, it’s not too difficult to achieve the same level of advanced cooling power and air filtration right in the comfort of your own home. In fact, it only requires installing a simple AC window unit to moderate the indoor air temperature of your chosen home gym. I picked up a cheap AC window system for only $100 and had it installed later that afternoon. Now, when I want to get a good workout I simply power up my mini AC system and let it churn out high quality, ice cold air for an hour or so. The best part is, my AC unit can be used nearly anywhere. I’m not simply handing my money over to the gym with an expensive membership; I’ve invested in my future air quality for life.
