List of demands at work – thermostat

I have just about had it at my job, and I think that my boss can tell.

For the past few weeks I have been laying into him and telling him exactly what’s on my mind every chance I get.

I figure, it’s about time after a year-and-a-half of enduring their abuse and keeping my mouth shut. It’s been a terrible roller coaster of employment, and I just don’t care anymore. These days, I don’t bother biting my tongue when something new comes up. I go straight to my boss and tell him all the ways that unfair till next Tuesday. Most recently, I laid down the law when it came to our office HVAC settings. For a year-and-a-half, I’ve been coming into the office and immediately freezing my butt off. Every single morning, somebody comes in and cranks the thermostat down to 65 degrees. They leave the office and go on their merry way, leaving the small space completely freezing and uncomfortable for the people who actually have to work there. Then, I crank the thermostat back up and wait many hours for the air temperature to return to a reasonable level. Until then, I freeze in my seat and I have difficulty concentrating because I’m so cold. Half the time I can’t hear myself think over my teeth chattering. Yesterday, I reached my breaking point. When I came in and the thermostat was turned down even lower than usual, I immediately went to my boss. Until there is some a thermostat control around this place, I’m not going to keep working here. I packed up my things and went back home to my reasonable thermostat settings. I’m not going back until he changes the passcode on the thermostat.
